Cakestand on the Cheap

I've had this post saved in my drafts folder for a while.  So instead of doing homework, I thought I should finish it.

I bought this plate on super clearance at Marshall's for $1.  Originally, I wanted use them for these fantastic wedding invitations for our 3 friends we invited for our City Hall wedding ceremony.  Well, never happened. Oh well. Not a total waste, I found another purpose for them.

When I finally decided to create a mini cake stand, it took forever for me to find a base for the price I wanted to pay.  I scoured the Salvation Army store for a few weeks until I found this for $0.50.  I think it's a sundae cup.

With some Gorilla glue, I made this.

Yay. Every once in a while, R does remind me every once in a while that I need to be patient and read directions by turning this thing over.  See that brown spot between the glass and plate?  I put too much glue there and didn't realize the glue would almost double in volume when cured.

House Party!

I co-hosted my friend B's birthday party/our housewarming a while ago.  It was a lot of work, and I cut myself twice on the same hand.  The most important part was that we had fun and I should have taken better pictures.

I love Cost Plus

Kitchen Sink Mat

I want. That's all.

Weekday Grub: Potesto Pizza

There's a pizzeria near my apartment, whose specialty is a Potesto (potato and pesto) pizza.  Here's my version. R and my sister liked it. I didn't like it, but I wouldn't mind making it again.

Bitter Almond KitKats and Soda!

Bitter Almond Kitkat.  My sister and I liked this one.

My husband really wanted to try this.  Dad's root beer, Kiss grapefruit soda, Pig Iron cola, Nesbitt's strawberry soda.
It's rainy season and I decided to stray from my usual sweatshirt and jeans and wore this today.  It took me a while to put this together, straighten my hair and apply makeup (I'd take a pic of the makeup, but the flash will wash it out).  All to one-up someone I don't really like.  That's as badass as I get.

Cheap Art

All cell pics, I was too lazy to look for the camera.

I made this one.

I made this from leftover scrapbook paper from the wedding.

I bought this from Ross.  It's calming and I like the colors.

Pretty things I ate last week

I finally introduced my sister to Paulette's and we bought a dozen of these lovelies. My new favorite is the Earl Grey.

My mom gave me this cantaloupe.  Yeah, it looks like a honeydew melon on the inside!

This is fine dark Kitkat.  It's like a dark dark chocolate.
